NEW YORK - General manager Omar Minaya and manager Jerry Manuel tenure with the New York Mets in their current positions will probably be more after this weekend, sources told ESPNNewYork.com.
Several team officials said no announcement is expected until after the completion of the regular season on Sunday.
While the survey of interest among potential candidates for front-office has taken place, a Mets official said he has requested permission to speak officially successors and no replacement will be installed immediately.
Sources say that Joe Garagiola Jr. and Sandy Alderson are among those being considered for the new office.
Manuel said he had not been informed of any decision concerning his employment status.
"I have not talked about anything," said Manuel. "Nothing has been said to me. As every year, year-end comment. I do not say anything."
Minaya was hired during the last week of the 2004 season, and energy to the fan base with the signings of Pedro Martínez and Carlos Beltrán. However, the Mets qualified for the playoffs only one of his six full seasons on the job each year despite having one of the highest payrolls in the National League.

"This is a city that-have-it-done-for-me-lately, and has not been good lately," said David Wright Friday night before the start of a season-ending series against Washington. "I think everyone who subscribed to this, everybody is in the organization knows that in New York, is expected to win, and when you fail, no fingers will be pointed, and obviously that's where we are now. "
Minaya is signed for two more seasons at about 1.1 million U.S. dollars a year. A source familiar with the contract language prohibits Minaya confirmed to be reassigned to that role, so it is unclear whether eventually run the organization in another capacity.
Manuel The Mets do not need money. The guaranteed portion of his contract expires at the end of the season. While team officials were complimentary of the results of Manuel, is getting caught in the shock over it.
A former American League Manager of the year with the Chicago White Sox, Manuel said he hoped he would hear a decision on its destination before it becomes public.

However, he knows there is a change likely to occur.
"Upon entering, you know when it comes to New York, the bottom line is that we must win," he said. "So I said some things there. But, obviously, we want people just to let you know before you get through the screen."
